NOTE: This is known bug with Android OS, not with this Radio Station App
This bug was eventually fixed in Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), but the corresponding update hasn’t been released by the device manufacturers (OEMs). For Nexus devices, Google will fix this issue as part of Android-N, expected in Fall 2016. For other OEMs like Samsung, we cannot confirm if they intend to release a software update that contains the fix.
Workarounds:
Android 5.0 – 5.1: None. You must disable Battery Saver mode if you would like music streaming to continue in the background
Android 6.0 and above (all manufacturers, including Samsung):
Recommended: You must disable Battery Saver mode if you would like music streaming to continue in the background
Not Recommended, but proven to work: Disable Battery Optimization for this app
- Go to Phone Settings > Battery
- Select ‘Battery Optimization’ from the menu icon in the top-right of the screen.
- Select All apps from the drop-down menu in the center of the display.
- Scroll down to this app and ensure the switch is turned off.
From time-to-time streaming audio needs to buffer to accommodate the fluctuations in available bandwidth. Sometimes this buffer can store up to 60-seconds of audio before it begins to play.
You can not listen via the mobile app without an Internet connection.
